Entering Caloundra Art Prize

Gary was very excited last week, entering his first art prize at The Caloundra Regional Gallery. Gary has his books and greeting cards on sale at their gift shop, so we thought this would be a good location to approach for a book signing.

Well they got back to us and suggested he apply for the Art Show. Choosing the artwork to enter was the hardest part. We finally decided on House Boat Monsters as the best painting that summed up Gary's love for living on The Sunshine Coast. This artwork has been applied to various products in his online store, including an extra large and extra handy tea towel.

Gary had to write an Artist's Statement and compile his CV in order to apply. There are only 40 people selected for the show, entrants for which closed on Friday. The prize is $5000, with a people's prize for $500. Fingers crossed Gary gets accepted! You've got to be in it to win it, and judging by previous winners, he has as good a chance as any.

Gary also has a number of other original artworks available for sale. These are soon to be put up onto his store for the astute investor.
